Data Collection Notice & Privacy Policy

FINGER VOICE lets you vote anonymously without an account. We never ask for your name, email, or phone number. To stop one person from voting many times, we do collect and store technical information about your device and network. Please read the details below.

1. What we collect

The following is recorded automatically each time you vote, post, or search.

  • Network: full IP address, IP range (IPv4 /24 · IPv6 /64), ASN and network operator, VPN / datacenter / Tor indicators
  • Location: country, region, city, coordinates and timezone derived from your IP (collected automatically). Precise GPS location is collected only if you explicitly grant browser permission.
  • Device: browser, operating system, screen resolution, color depth, timezone, language settings, CPU cores, memory, GPU
  • Device fingerprint: identifying hashes derived from graphics (Canvas·WebGL), audio, installed fonts, and floating-point math results
  • Storage identifiers: anonymous random tokens stored in localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB and CacheStorage (we do not use cookies)
  • Behavior: time on page, pointer movement count and path variance, keystroke count, scroll depth, touch pressure
  • Request metadata: User-Agent, Referer, Accept-Language

2. What we do NOT collect

  • MAC address — web browsers do not expose MAC addresses by any means. We do not collect it, and any site claiming to do so is not telling the truth.
  • Name, email, phone number, or any government identifier
  • Contacts, photos, or files stored on your device

3. Why we collect it

  • Duplicate-vote prevention — stopping the same person from voting twice on the same topic
  • Detecting and blocking automation (bots) and coordinated manipulation
  • Selecting topics per country and computing result statistics

4. How your anonymity is protected

The identifier used for duplicate blocking is derived with a different secret for every topic. Duplicates are therefore caught within a topic, but linking your votes across topics into a political profile is not possible — not even for us. Vote records contain no name or account, and the author key behind a post is never exposed.

5. Retention period

The technical information in section 1 is retained without a fixed expiry so that manipulation can be investigated after the fact (operator decision). It is stored on our own database servers located in the Republic of Korea.

6. Your rights

You may request access to or deletion of the data collected about you. Because we hold no account that identifies you, a request must include details that let us locate the records (approximate time of your visit, approximate location, and similar). Send deletion requests to the contact address below.

7. Notice on sensitive data

Political opinions are treated as sensitive personal data under Korean law (PIPA Art. 23) and under GDPR Art. 9 where applicable. Voting on a political topic records your political opinion — please use the service with that in mind. You are free to read results without voting.
